*Pressure measurement and control system0

*Refrigeration equipment

*External balance weighing equipment

Tubing Design

To ensure long-term operation under aseptic conditions, Biobench pipeline design has the following characteristics:

The piping process adopts no dead corner welding to ensure that it can still work under aseptic conditions after long-term use.

The valves in contact with the medium are diaphragm valves.

One steam circuits, for process control. The inlet and outlet connectors are made of stainless steel.

Open water loop temperature control

Fully Automated Heating / Cooling / Sterilization System
Temperature is controlled by direct circulation of cooling water through the vessel jacket for cooling, and by introducing steam into the heat exchanger for heating. All valves are tested post-installation to ensure safety and reliability. Condensate is automatically discharged through steam traps and a dedicated recirculation pipeline. Valve operation throughout the system is fully automated.

Online CO₂ Sensor (Mettler Toledo)
Dissolved CO₂ is a naturally occurring cytotoxic byproduct in cell culture. Elevated dissolved CO₂ levels can lead to undesirable metabolic shifts, suppressed cell growth, and reduced productivity. The Mettler Toledo InPro® 5000 CO₂ sensor enables real-time analysis of CO₂ concentration during bioprocessing, allowing rapid response and potentially increasing cell growth rates by up to 30%.

Exhaust Gas Analyzer (Blue In One)

Concentration ranges:0.1–25% O₂ / 1–50% O₂;0–10% CO₂ / 0–25% CO₂Real-time

Measurement of CO₂, O₂, pressure, and humidity Indirect calculation of: Oxygen uptake rate (OUR);Carbon dioxide evolution rate (CER);Respiratory quotient (RQ);Includes automatic pressure compensation

Solid Feeding System

Independent feeding unit connected via a 19 mm port on the vessel lid

The drive motor for solid feeding operates similarly to those used for acid/base/antifoam pumps and can be controlled via software for ON/OFF operation and feed rate adjustment

Solids are stored in a sealable funnel-type reservoir, which can be sterilized together with the vessel

Solid Feeding System

Solids are stored in a sealable funnel-type reservoir, which can be sterilized together with the vessel.

Balance
Balances with various weighing capacities are available to accommodate different vessel volumes and experimental requirements.

Pressure Monitoring and Control System (Safety-rated Protection)

Pressure range: 0.5–10 bar

Linearity: Type ±0.2% FS, ±0.5% FS

Stability: Type 0.1% FS, 0.2% FS

Operating temperature: –20 to 150 °C

Proportional valve with magnetic body: 316L

Sealing: FPM (Fluoroelastomer)

Ambient temperature: ≤55 °C

Spin Filter (for Cell Culture)

12–15 μm pore size for suspension cell culture

75 μm pore size for microcarrier-based culture

An internal dip tube enables cell-free medium harvesting.

Glass Vessel Overpressure Protection Device
Depending on the application, a rupture disk can provide additional overpressure protection during operation. The disk is clamped between two pipe sections using a tri-clamp connection. One pipe end features a vent port for installation into a designated port on the fermenter top plate; the other end has a flange for connection to a safe discharge line.
